Taste of Thai: Weekend Workshop
Saturday,
May 31 - Sunday, June 01
Description
This two-day 15-hour NCBTMB Approved Provider workshop will introduce students to the historical, theoretical, and practical aspects of Thai massage and will give participants a solid foundation for understanding and applying the essential principles of this ancient healing art.
Traditional Thai Therapy – also known as “Thai Massage” or “Thai Yoga Massage” – integrates ancient techniques of compression, acupressure, reflexology, and facilitated stretching – the combination of which has powerful therapeutic effects on the body. These ancient techniques are applied to the ten major Thai “sen” lines – or energy lines – which serve as the theoretical basis for this healing art. A traditional Thai therapy treatment involves the receiver passively receiving these ancient techniques on a floor mat and fully clothed.
This workshop is open to anyone interested in taking care of his or her body in a new way and also willing to share that sense of care with others. Being open to learning something new about yourself and others is a pre-requisite. Life-long learners are welcome – healthcare providers, massage therapists, yoga or pilates practitioners, etc.
